We have an immediate full-time opening for an Assembler in our Pre-Finished Door Production department for our Saco, ME branch.

  • Learn how to use a variety of woodworking tools to assemble various millwork components into an assembled door unit
  • Work individually build pre-hung door unit to customer's specifications
  • Learn how to calibrate and perform routine maintenance on all tools
  • Discover how work to safely and maintain good housekeeping practices
  • As your skills improve, receive cross training in other areas.


Assemblers are responsible for assembling and fabricating prepared components into prehung door units according to prescribed ordered sizes.

  • Reads work order and assembles pre-painted or stained components according to work order specifications.  
  • Operates screw guns and pneumatic nail guns to assemble door unit
  • Inspects the overall quality of components prior to, during and after assembly process
  • Maintain a clear production area free of debris and properly stored and secured work materials, hardware, tools and equipment
  • Responsible for attending all safety training and meetings, being aware of and complying with up-to-date OSHA and company safety policy
  • Performs routine maintenance on all tools used including cleaning, oiling, checking to ensure proper functioning, calibrating machines, checking measuring tool accuracy, and notifying a supervisor of larger repairs or malfunctions
  • Must be willing and able to be cross-trained and to handle perform various function within the department.


  • High School diploma or GED and one to two years' related experience and/or training preferred but not necessary.
  • Experience in following direction carefully and working in a team environment
  • Include but are not limited to: chop saw, table saw, rip saw, hand saw; router, nail gun, screw gun, door machine, various pneumatic tools, and drills
  • Familiarity with door components and assembly techniques preferred but not necessary
  • Basic analytical, reasoning, and math abilities.
  • Basic verbal communication skills.
  • Might require forklift certification, depending upon branch requirements.


  • Use of hands to feel, manipulate, or handle; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting of 50-85 pounds and/or pushing 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires the proper use of safety equipment such as protective eyewear, earplugs, hard toe shoes, etc.
