The position reports directly to the Director, Supply Chain and is responsible for the implementation and compliance quality expectations for our external suppliers.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supports the sourcing of products by participating in meetings, documentation of suppliers capabilities, identification of quality concerns, communication of potential consumer complaints, participation in plant trials or start-ups, organization of specification review and compliance checks.
  • Establishes supplier quality strategies, goals and KPI's across the global Supply Chain.
  • Conducts quality audits/reviews of suppliers and verifies appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Leads teams focused on investigation and improvement of quality issues such as consumer complaints, specification deviations, or processing challenges.
  • Develops and manages the quality auditing systems using internal audits and review of third party audits and certifications.
  • Supports and manages product qualification needs across multiple suppliers, countries and production lines.
  • Develop formats for effective communication on supplier manufacturing quality metrics and progress.
  • Establishes processes to ensure we are driving continuous improvement with our suppliers.
  • Recommends improvements of efficiencies and costs in assigned area to meet budgeted KPI goals.
  • Develop leadership skills of subordinates by determining developmental needs and opportunities.
  • Set performance guidelines and goals for managers and key personnel through effective performance appraisals. Provide mentoring and direction as required.
  • Advises the Director Supply Chain on all aspects of operations, including any issues that may affect the success of the assigned responsibilities.
  • This position requires approximately 25% domestic and overseas travel.

  • The ideal candidate must be extroverted, confident, and possess the ability to effectively communicate the benefits of valued-added service and products to employees, customers, and vendors.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in sourcing, quality management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience is desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Business or a related field - or equivalent years of related experience is required
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience developing and managing a budget is required, preferably for multiple facilities.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as discounts, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • The ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Other Skills/Certification:

  • Microsoft Suite'Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint (Intermediate and Advanced).
  • A valid Drivers License in State of residence required.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems; collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
