POSITION OVERVIEW

To support and direct the company-wide initiative to increase margin through compensatory pricing of both products and customers.  Improve and standardize the tools and processes by which pricing records are analyzed, loaded and published.  Provide training and support to General Managers and their staff.  Position reports directly through Corporate Operations Director of Pricing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide guidance with how pricing records work in SX.e and how best to utilize them
  • Standardize the product price types (PPTs) used to group products and the customer price types (CPTs) used to group customers
  • Manage and improve the catalog process by standardizing the processes and work files used to create and publish catalogs
  • Provide training programs, on-site and web based, with margin enhancing pricing strategies (utilizing PPTs, CPTs, multipliers, net pricing records, etc.)
  • Work in conjunction with IT to develop tools that improve the publishing of pricing information (catalogs) to customers

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE ' Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university with emphasis in management and analysis.  Prefer experience with functions of SX.e.

SKILLS/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED ' Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and a strong ability to utilize Excel (Advanced) and data base tools such as BRIO.

LANGUAGE SKILLS ' Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business and professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, other employees and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS ' Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and accounting.

REASONING ABILITY ' Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

TRAVEL Between 25 and 50% within the Region and to Corporate Office in St Louis.
